Introduction
There are two ways to pursue law degree. And first one way is after graduation i.e. LLB of three years after your graduation with any stream. And another fantastic and unique way is BALLB integrated course of 5 years. For this you can directly take admission in the private college after 12th . And for pursuing your BALLB from known and prestigious 22 National Law University you will have to participate and qualify CLAT i.e Common Law Admission Test.
So, in this article we will talk about Eligibility for CLAT UG.
Eligibility for CLAT UG
Age Limit:- There is no Upper age limit for Common law admission test under graduate exam. Means there is no Upper age limit, after which you can't apply for CLAT. So, you can appear in CLAT at any age right now. Simply, if you have qualified your 12th exam with any stream, you are eligible for CLAT UG.
Percentage Requirements:-It depends upon your category.
For SC/ST candidate, minimum percentage requirements is 40% or equivalent grade point in 12th.
For General/OBC/PIO/OCI/PWD/NRI candidate, minimum percentage requirements is 45% or equivalent grade point.
Rule Regarding 12th Appearing students:- Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination in March/April, 2022 are also eligible to appear in CLAT 2022 examination. However, they shall be required to produce an evidence of their passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission, failing which they shall lose their right to be considered for admission.
Rank decision in case of equal mark:-
In case of equal marks, the break of tie shall be by the following procedure and order as under:
1. Higher marks in the component / section on legal aptitude in the CLAT 2022 exam:- lets assume a case. A and B both got same marks in exam, but B have more marks in Legal section . Then it will be difficult to take one and leave one. So, to avoid this problem , they will select candidate B.
2.Higher age:- Other way of rank decision is according to age. If two candidates A & B got same marks in Legal section as well , and B is of more age than A. Then B will be selected.
3.Computerised draw of lots:- This is lucky draw type computerised selection process.
